Luis Villar

Luis arrived at Balboa Union Church in November 2014 as a refugee from Cuba, and asked for temporary assistance.  He became a live-in caretaker of the Church, and has grown into a role of missions and care of the poor and needy that arrive at the Church.  Luis formally joined the church as a member in March 2016, although since 2015 he had already been actively involved in the missions program and outreach  In 2016 he took the role of Chair of the Missions Ministry and continues to work in that role in 2017, organizing the monthly food baskets for the AAAM program and attending those in need.

In 2018, Luis has taken his love and passion for people to occupying the role of Membership, responsible for caring and taking care of the members of our congregation.
