DEVOTIONAL, NOVEMBER 5TH

James 1:19-20

19 My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, 20 because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires.

Our words have the power to edify and tear down, the power to inspire our loved ones to do something extraordinary, but they can also be intimidating. The power to encourage or discourage. The word of God tells us:

Because, “it is not what enters the mouth that contaminates man; but what comes out of the mouth, that is what contaminates man. “ (Matthew 15:11)

If we call ourselves Christians, “but we don’t control our tongue, we deceive ourselves. And our religion is useless. ” (James 1:26)

Therefore, “whoever wants to love life and see good days, restrain his tongue of evil and his lips do not speak deceit.” (1 Peter 3:10)

Remembering that, “the mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom and his tongue speaks righteousness.” (Psalm 37:30)
