FROM THE PASTOR`S DESK
“Love – Not for cowards”,
that is the title of a sequence in a newspaper. My first reaction: Yes, that’s true. Love is our strongest and most positive sense in life, but it also challenges us like no other one. Because love is applied to a YOU, it demands a response. On the “I love you” we are hoping the answer: “I love you too”.
Obviously love is not for cowards, therefore we need a large supply of love. Then we will not come quickly to our limits. In the 1st Epistle of John we read (4.16):
God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God and God in him.
In Christ, God has come into our world. He has chosen not a perfect world. He accepted us just as we are. God really was not a coward! And every day he invites us again. Let us seek contact with God. Here we find a neverending treasure for us. This overcomes our fears and gives us a healthy optimism.
