Verse for today:

Don't just talk the talk, walk the walk!
Don’t just talk the talk, walk the walk!

 James 2: 26

Just as the body is dead without breath, so also faith is dead without good works.

Works are not the cause of salvation; works are the evidence of salvation.  James does not imagine that work is at odds with faith. There can be no “justification by works” because there can be no good works unless there is already faith (trust) in God. James doesn’t mean that faith can exist without works yet be insufficient for salvation. He means that any “faith” that doesn’t lead to works is dead; in other words, it is no faith at all.

The insight that Christian faith always leads to practical action is in itself a lesson for the workplace. We cannot divide the world into spiritual and practical, for the spiritual is the practical.

Jesus put it this way: “By their fruits you will know them.»

We know a body is alive because of its actions; we know faith is alive by its actions. Life consists of energy and movement: so does faith!

Preceding him in death were his parents, Joseph Otto Tilley and Marjorie Tilley Gerhart, and brothers Joe Ed and William (Bill). Survivors include sisters Helen Tilley Martin of Lawrence, KS, Marjorie Janet Lee (husband Glenn) of Cerro Punta, R. de P., and brother John Locke Tilley (wife Susan) of Rogue River, OR, and several nieces and nephews.

Bob graduated from Balboa High School in 1972. He served in the US Airforce during the Vietnam era. After leaving the service he moved to Florida, living in Ft. Lauderdale until his return to Panama in 2014. He worked in Avionics at Eastern Airlines and for several General Aviation companies.

Bob had a great love for birds, having many for pets, his favorite probably being a cockatoo named Crow. He also had parrots, parakeets, and cockatiels, among others.

Bob was a fun-loving, gentle person who will be greatly missed by his family.»
