Psalm 106:1-5<\/span><\/p>\n

1<\/sup> Praise the Lord!<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0O\u00a0give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0for his steadfast love endures for ever.<\/span>
\n2<\/sup> Who can utter the mighty doings of the Lord,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0or declare all his praise?<\/span>
\n3<\/sup> Happy are those who observe justice,<\/span>
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0who do righteousness at all times.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It’s not always easy to observe justice and do righteousness at all times, especially when fear takes over us. \u00a0This Psalm reminds us that we owe everything we have to God, that everything is a gift from him. \u00a0So we should never fear when we are asked or feel led to give outside of our comfort zone: whether that be of money, time or efforts. \u00a0That is why Proverbs 3: 27 reminds us<\/p>\n

Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

It doesn’t say when it is comfortable to do so. \u00a0Or when it is convenient. \u00a0But rather that when it is in your power.<\/p>\n

Reminder – Families in Urgent need<\/h1>\n

\"IMG-20150910-WA0046\"<\/a>\u00a0We have been alerted by the authorities that yesterday’s rain storm destroyed the homes of 2 families in our area, and they have asked us to assist with food, clothes & blankets. \u00a0In particular, we are looking to provide clothes for 6 children, ages 2 – 12 years of age. \u00a0\"IMG-20150910-WA0050\"<\/a>Pampers, milk and other basic toiletries would also be readily accepted and needed. \u00a0Anyone that is able to donate, please bring your donations urgently to the church. \u00a0If you need to drop them off, you may do so to the missions office in the 773 basement, or contact Roland (our pastor) or Betsy (misiones@balboaunionchurch.org) to coordinate these donations. \u00a0\"IMG-20150910-WA0048\"<\/a>Every little bit matters.<\/p>\n

Council meeting –<\/strong> Saturday September 27th 1:00 pm- BUC Office. \u00a0This will be a meeting of Missions, Property Management, Christian Education, Worship & Ministry, Membership committee chairs and other council members. \u00a0But all members of the congregation may sit in on the meetings and deliberations. \u00a0If you have any issues you would like the council to consider, these should be present to the Council Secretary before the meeting, so that they can be included in the agenda.<\/p>\n
