Come, Holy Spirit.
Open our eyes to see the presence of God all around us, in the stillness of this sacred space, in the busyness and noise of our city streets, in the joys and celebrations of our lives, in the tragedies and struggles that break our hearts.
Liberate us from complacency and apathy; inspire us with Christ’s vision for a world reborn.
Help us to recognize our gifts for ministry and to use them in service of others; transform our hearts and our minds; fill us with love that overflows; remind us that there is no greater calling than to love you with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves.

It is for your kingdom that we now pray. Amen.

Ven, Espíritu Santo.
Abre nuestros ojos para ver la presencia de Dios a nuestro alrededor, en la quietud de este espacio sagrado, en el ajetreo y el ruido de las calles de nuestra ciudad, en las alegrías y celebraciones de nuestras vidas, en las tragedias y luchas que rompen nuestros corazones.
Libéranos de la complacencia y la apatía; inspíranos con la visión de Cristo para un mundo renacido.
Ayúdenos a reconocer nuestros dones para el ministerio y a usarlos al servicio de los demás; transforma nuestros corazones y nuestras mentes; llénanos de amor; recuérdanos que no hay mayor vocación que amarte con todo lo que somos y amar a nuestro prójimo como a nosotros mismos.

I left the church parking lot wondering how it could have happened―I attended my weekly men’s Bible study group and realized that I hadn’t talked to a single person all evening. And no one talked to me. As I was driving home, feeling totally invisible, I reflected on the factors that caused me to feel left out.
