Weekly Newsletter: January 22, 2016

Verse for today:

Psalm 29: 11

The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

Complete peace; inward peace and the fullness of peace is in fellowship with God.

All you have to do is turn on your T.V. any night of the week and you will see that we are living in a world full of turmoil. Most of what is in the news is bad news. Our lives are characterized by an lack of peace and a presence of turmoil.  Wars, the struggle, the strife and confrontation going on in our world is simply an outward manifestation of the inner turmoil going on within the souls of men and women. From the lack of peace within nations to the lack of peace between two people, it all reflects a lack of peace from within people.

Perhaps the answer lies in the nature of the peace we are pursuing. It is apparent that there are many in this world frantically involved in a quest for peace, but is the peace that is being sought really true peace?

“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.”
Isaiah 26:3.

Peace of heart is peace of mind. The table of the heart, mind and spirit has to be cleared as the battle is won from the heart.  As a man thinks in his heart so is he. One is a product of his thoughts.

Remember, Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.”

Up-coming BUC Activities

BUC Patio Sale Saturday – January 30thPatio sale ad 2 2016

The coming weeks will be receiving donations of clothes and shoes of ladies, gentlemen and children, also home appliances in good condition, all that you already do not use or do not have any more space in your house to keep it, please come and donate it to BUC patio sale, our office schedule is of 9:00am to 4:00pm (Wednesday the office is closed) contact to us to 314 1004 or office@balboaunionchurch.org, memebership@balboaunionchurch.org  to coordinate delivery of the donation with the secretary, also we need Volunteers to help in the organization of patio sale

 Volunteers are required for:

1- Monday-Friday – January 25th – January 29th – to sort all of the clothes/furniture/ children’s toys / etc., and put prices on everything

2- starting 7.30 a.m. on Saturday morning – we need teams (usually 2 teams/relays) – that can “walk the floor”, answer questions, and collect the money (we usually have one person helping add up the amount and another with the money).  Where possible, we would like two teams for the “till” at all times, as otherwise we get backed up.  Ideally we need about 10-15 volunteers on the actual day of the patio sale.  Typically we are done by midday (there’s nothing left of any great value).
