FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
Hear, O Lord, when I cry aloud; be gracious to me and answer me! (Psalm 27,7)
This is the prayer for our Sunday. The first word in Latin gave it its name: Exaudi.
Our Sunday is between Easter time and Pentecost, the coming of God’s Spirit.
That is our position: we are waiting. As church we also have to learn to wait.
There are two options how we can wait. When we wait for a bus of for an airplane we can read a book or we “loose” or time with one of our gadgets. The other form of waiting is: we do something productive. That is the form we have to learn as a church. We work hard, but at the same time we know that the result depends also from God. Therefore we cry to Him. The cry is the original form of a prayer. We ask for help, we pray for an advisor, an Advocate. Jesus promised us God’s Spirit. We are not alone.
How can we discover the voice of God’s Spirit? We read God’s Word, we pray and we consult among our brothers and sisters. This is the Christian way to encourage one another. Let us move forward in this way.

NEW ROOM BEHIND THE ALTAR PROMISES TO GET LOTS OF USE!
The BUC Property Management Committee is happy to announce another phase finished in our five-year plan to refurbish and “refresh” our church building. The latest renovation was of a former three-room space that for the church’s first seventy years was the pastor’s office, a conference room, and a storage space. In 1992, however, the pastor’s office had moved downstairs just off the Fellowship Hall; and the rooms looked like this:
BEFORE:
Storage space
Old Conference Room (dark, no windows, awful carpet, storage space)
Old Pastor’s Office (windows full of termites, dreadful curtains, storage space)
AFTER
New Kiwanis room (looking back towards altar door)
View towards old music room door
View from altar door
Property Management, as always, wants to thank Alexis and his crew for their hard work. The Kiwanis has a two-year lease to use this beautiful new space.
Thursday Evening Men’s Group
David would remind all gentlemen in the church that they are welcome to join the men’s group that gets together every Thursday, 5- 7 p.m., at the Tryp Hotel (Albrook). This is a time for fellowship and getting to know other members of our church family.
